Remember, it’s hard to fade when you are constantly in people’s faces.

2. COLLABORATE WITH OTHERS.

Collaborating with others will make their followers recognise you and engage with your content. Remember shoutouts? Yes, this is similar to a shoutout, but in this case, you are giving content that would make them recognise you without your collaborative partner actually saying the words, ‘Go Follow’.

3. POST AT YOUR BEST TIMES.

Understand when your followers are most active and post at that time frame, because the more engagements you get when you make a post, the more discoverable your post becomes to others. How do I know my best time? You can decide to track this manually by posting at different intervals and noting the difference, or by using the platform’s insights (this is easier and more accurate).

4. ENGAGE YOUR FOLLOWERS.

Engaging your followers by liking and replying to their comments, asking them questions about what they think about your content and asking for their opinions on certain things, is a good way to keep your followers involved and make them appreciate you more. This way, they become ‘extra fans’ and go as far as sharing your content with their friends, which will definitely make them follow you.

5. USE HASHTAGS.

Hashtags make your post more visible to people that may not even be following you. Using the right hashtags will make your post appear on other people’s timeline and make them notice you, and that’s a chance for them to follow you too. How do I know the right hashtags to use? Using hashtags relating to your post is a goodway to make your post more discoverable. For example, if i post a picture to show off my cat, I’ll use hashtags like #cats, #pets, #lovecats. Another way is by using hashtag generator apps.

6. MAKE USE OF THE NEW FEATURES.

Social media platforms update their softwares and add new features for more fun and a better experience, make use if them. For example, Twitter released a new voice tweet feature that allows you to say your tweet rather than going through the stress of typing it, especially if it’s a long tweet. On the other hand, Instagram recently released a Tiktok like feature called Reels. People are interested in what’s new and therefore that gives your content more interraction and eventually, more followers.

7. HOST GIVEAWAYS AND CONTESTS.

People love freestuff, and it’s a good way to draw attention to your page. You could also make one of the criteria for winning a compulsory follow. “So all I have to do is follow? Why not!”, That way, you have succeeded in gaining more followers by offering them freebies.
